On 10 December 2025, Turbo Net Zero co-hosted the 8th China Private Equity Responsible Investment Forum in Lujiazui, Shanghai, convening investors, development finance institutions, and impact-focused organisations to discuss the evolving role of ESG and impact investing in China’s private equity market.
Turbo Net Zero’s Chief Executive Officer, Max Li, moderated the opening panel, Emerging Trends in ESG and Impact Investing. The panel brought together senior representatives from across the impact and private capital ecosystem, including:
Usha Mishra, Chief of Social Policy, UNICEF China
Roman Novozhilov, PhD, CAIA, Head of ESG, New Development Bank
Mark Yeh, Head of Northeast Asia, AVPN
Chen Shiyou, Chairman & Founding Partner, Youshan Capital
Zuo Lin, Partner, Sequoia Vision Carbon Neutrality Fund
The discussion examined how ESG and impact investing are shaping capital allocation in China, including the most relevant investment themes, the role of sustainability and impact indicators in screening and decision-making, and the operational barriers to achieving measurable improvements within portfolio companies. Panelists emphasized the growing demand for decision-useful ESG and impact metrics that can inform investment and ownership strategies, rather than serving solely as reporting outputs.
Speakers also highlighted the importance of practical enablement at the company level, including aligned leadership, consistent data, and incentive structures that support long-term value creation. Emerging opportunities were noted across climate transition technologies, inclusive services, and mission-driven innovation.
As responsible investment and impact integration continue to become core drivers of private equity strategy, Turbo Net Zero remains focused on supporting investors in translating sustainability ambition into disciplined, measurable outcomes.
